Jazwarīn is an architecture and design studio working across architecture, urban design, interiors and objects.
Jazwarīn takes its name from the tamarisk tree, a quiet and resilient presence in the local landscape. Its beauty is unorthodox, irregular in form, muted in colour, weathered rather than pristine, and shaped by the conditions in which it grows.
The studio’s design language draws from the same character. It is humble and unassuming, restrained in expression, yet resilient, adaptive, and deeply responsive to place. Jazwarīn pursues precision and perfection without relying on excess or spectacle. We seek work that is carefully resolved, materially honest, and refined to the point where its complexity feels effortless.
Our work begins with the particularities of each place, brief, material, climate, and way of use. Rather than applying a fixed visual language, we aim for solutions that feel inevitable to their context while remaining precise in proportion, detail, and execution.
We value quiet architecture, clear decisions, durable materials, and careful detailing. The ambition is to produce work that is rigorous without being loud, distinctive without being excessive, and capable of ageing with dignity.
Founder
Mohamed Emara
Architect, urban designer, educator, and researcher. His work moves between architectural practice, interiors, public space and urban design, digital fabrication, and academic research. Alongside the studio, he teaches architecture at Alexandria University and works across design development, prototyping, and urban projects.
